What is Cherokee Flavor Fest?

Community Collaboration for Building a Vibrant Food Community

Cherokee Flavor Fest and Silent Auction is a joint community event and fundraiser supporting three local nonprofit organizations in Cherokee County that support feeding our community – Cherokee County Meals on Wheels, Peach Center Ministries, and KNOW(2). The first annual event will be held on September 23, 2025 in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church in Gaffney from 5-8 pm.

The Heart of Cherokee Flavor Fest

This tasting event will allow ticket purchasers to try out dishes from restaurants, caterers, home chefs, church cooks, and others. Nonprofits, businesses, and others will also be present to share information about their services and programs. Entertainment and a Kids Zone will also be featured, as well as engaging games for all ages.

In addition to the food, attendees can participate in a silent auction featuring a wide array of items, services, and experiences donated by local businesses and community members. It’s the perfect opportunity to bid on your favorites while supporting a great cause.

Why WE Do it

Giving Back

All this fun celebrates Hunger Awareness Month in support of local charities battling hunger right here in our shared community.  KNOW(2)’s Food Share Program, Meals on Wheels of Cherokee County, and Peach Center Ministries will use the proceeds from this event to support their critical, local programming.

MEALS ON WHEELS CHEROKEE COUNTY

Founded in 1984, Cherokee County Meals On Wheels began with just 20 meals served daily by 20 volunteers. Today, MOW serves approximately 400 to 500 meals per day, across over 26 routes paired with friendly visits to the homebound, elderly, and disabled across the county—truly “more than a meal.” Meals on Wheels Cherokee County’s mission emphasizes food security, personal contact, and ensuring clients live with dignity and safety.

Peach Center Ministries

Established over two decades ago, Peach Center Ministries first began by providing food and clothing to those in need, and has since expanded services to include financial aid for prescriptions, utilities, rent, and other emergencies as funding allows. Each month, PeachCenter Ministries assists an impressive 300–400 families, offering a lifeline of services such as: Food distributions through their pantry, a clothes closet for essential clothing needs, and financial assistance for medical, utility, housing, and other needs when funding is available.

KNOW2

KNOW(2) is a community-driven nonprofit in Cherokee County, SC, dedicated to improving lives through education, empowerment, and opportunity. Their mission is rooted in the belief that knowledge is the key to breaking cycles of poverty and building stronger, healthier communities.
